About FCHV-BUS

Trial servicing Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle (FCHV-BUS)

Effective on December 16, 2010, a trial operation for a round trip a day had been serviced by using FCHV-BUS, to and from West Exit of Shinjuku Station and Haneda Airport, and also Tokyo City Air Terminal and Haneda Airport respectively. (*)

As one of the supporting measures to accelerate to utilize Hydrogen Supply/Utilization Technology which is supported by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Airport Limousine Bus shall strongly assist the Hydrogen Highway Project being implemented by HySUT to make a trial service on highway at the regular basis. Its proved data can be maximized in order to aim for the future practical use of FCHV-BUS.

  • * Please be advised it could be altered to the regular bus service without any prior notice, when it should be necessary because of stormy weather, peak season with numerous customers, and any other mechanical reason.
  • * Wireless Internet Services are not available on the FCHV-BUS.

What is FCHV-BUS?

It is the bus which moves by activating a motor to utilize the electric power generated with a chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. It is called an environment-oriented 'ecology bus' , of which energy efficiency is higher than the one using fossil fuel and with no emission gas being exhausted at all.
